K, I know I havent posted anything onto this forum yet, but it needs to happen because I have an idea that surprisingly seems possible at the moment.
I seem to be very fond of bejeweled 2's scoring system. That's why I've been thinking of incorporating bejeweled 3's scoring system into all the modes of bejeweled 2.
That is: getting rid of the constant 210 points per move and instead counting 10, 200 or whatever +x amount of bonus points per cascade (bejeweled 3's is a whopping 50), so that whenever a new cascade falls, it just goes with the cascade. It is described more clearer in the bejeweled 3 readme. The config.xml file describes only multipliers for certain modes, as well as points for power gem explosions.
Ex: 2: 10, 20, 30, 40, 60, 80, 110, 160, 210, 210
3: 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100 and so on.
Also, the bigger matches in Bejeweled 3 such as a hypercube is worth 500 points, which in 2 is worth 100 points. Then a 6 gem match 180 points, 7 gem 260, 8 gem 340 points. That also needs to be incorporated too, and should follow the Cascades too.
The reason it seems more reasonable is because then maxing out at a certain point value is very unnecessary. Servicegamer9 told me that this can be done. However, I do not want to do file sharing in such because this is for your own use, as modding a scoring system doesn't really need a file sharing example. I can try to have servicegamer9 give you an example because I still need to find an alternative way to find the scoring files (I did find the fonts that do have the points and such btw) but cannot change the values. It only changes the placement of the font style itself, if changing those it will mess up the way the numbers look and make it a bit funky looking.
I know it's possible because popcap left a lot of stuff for us to mod in this game.
I really don't need the looks of bejeweled 3 either because I already have it on my PC. And yes, I'm playing bejeweled 2 and 3 on a Windows 10 PC. that's even rarer.
So if anyone knows how to do this give a shout back because I know this can be done and servicegamer9 knows how to do such too.
